Jim was one of my favorite people and he was also my uncle. Some of my most magical childhood memories were created with the Mallon Family. During the time they lived on Montello Street was always an adventure when I came to visit. That was also when the old Navy ship was docked below in the Columbia River. Having a vacation with the Mallons was like visiting another country. I recall Jim taking us to Rooster Rock in the sixties when he had the old Chevy Nomad wagon. My wife Sandra and I surprised Jim and Shirley by showing up to their 60th wedding party a day early. It was wonderful visiting with both of them and the last time I saw them. I am very fortunate to have spent that time with them. May God bless everyone who is grieving the loss of such an influential man. Have a safe trip home JP. May the Great Scout Master of all Scouts be with us till we meet again.
