Our thoughts are with Gene's family at this time. I got to know Gene in the early 80s when he was a leader with folks of the upper valley and others to keep Mt. Hood Meadows from building a huge resort next to orchard lands. He was a gentleman, always compassionate and a steward of this valley in the many capacities where he gave service. He showed the best course, the high ground, and remained a model of how to treat others with equinamity, whether he agreed with someone or pasionatley disagreed.
