Dennis Tichenor
My dear friend Bob,
I know how much you wanted to join Bev. I can see you both now in heaven. Bev is straightening your tie and brushing off your lapel. She always did the same to me and that is why I alway called her, "mom"
When God calls roll I know you will step forward when he says
A true gentleman
A man with high integrity and purpose in life
A man who could belt out "Chiquita Banana"
A man who defines "Lionhearted" and big hearted
A man who loves chocolate and growing humungous apples
A man who served the Lions organization with distinction and was later awarded the Bev Thoman first every Lions Eye Bank Visionary Award. (The second hangs proudly on my wall)
A man who loved to teach and was a master teacher.
A man who loved to tell how he caught that huge fish and has pictures to prove it.
A man who was Dennis Tichenor's best friend and true friend
A man who always put others first.
A man who worshipped God and his family
A man who could define Serving others, but doing it for the rest of us to emulate.
I loved the times we got to visit lately. Because of you I will renew my efforts to help others, keeping in mind the real purpose of doing that.
I am sorry that I cannot attend your service as I will be in Michigan speaking at a Lion's convention that has been long ago planned.
Your friend,
Dennis Tichenor
