The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ellen Dittebrandt can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I first met Ellen as Allen Dittebrandt, pastel artist extraordinaire in Bend, Oregon. As an amateur pastel artist I was amazed at his gift, there was nothing "pastel" about his work, more vibrant and intense than any pastels I had ever seen before or since. I collected Dittebrandts while living in Bend then after a financial decline had to sell all but kept the very first Dittebrandt I bought and still treasure. I learned of Allen's change to Ellen during that time and then later of her death. I am so sorry for your great loss, she sounded like she was not only an amazing artist but an amazing person all around as well. I have a Pinterest board of her art that I collected online, the digital images almost as vibrant as the real thing. She is still very much alive and living for me through her art. Peace and love.
