Condolence: How lucky for me to go to Mexico with Doris and spend a week with you and Bud! Never a dull moment from arrival and Bud's "flair hair" hat to send off. Bud was a very special guy and the two of you gave hope to the world.

Condolence: Sorry to hear of Bud's passing. Bud was so full of enthusiasm for life. I feel fortunate to have known him through the windsurfing circle. He did so much to encourage youth to get involved in windsurfing. May his positive spirit live on through his family and friends!

Condolence: As you know Velma , when I was in Kenora, waiting for my Visa,
I met Bud who promised me , if I moved to Seattle he would introduce me to Seattle's most eligible bachelor and a place to live . True to his promise , he did both and I married that
wonderful " bachelor" and will forever be indebted to Bud.
He was a very kind and welcoming man and I will miss him.

Many thoughts and prayers are with you and family.

Condolence: Vel, I sort of got the bad news about Bud as I am now living in Thailand. Gary Wright sent me the details. Budman was the anchor of the mens hash when I first joined the group which was later than most of the others so I was always being told tales of his outrageous activities with the hash. And of course for many years, he was Santa Bud who took so much time to do an hour of standup activity while doling out gifts to us. I never saw him without a smile. If you don't remember exactrly who I am, I and my wife and two friends were bicycling across the Lewis and Clark trail and you and Bud graciously put us up at your house. My friend who stayed in your trailer with his girlfriend ALWAYS reminds me of how great it was staying with you guys. I will have to review my movie again I made of the hash to honor Bud as he was one of the "stars" and he always will be to me. I was always inspired on the life you two made after moving to Hood River and your enjoyment of life. Bud was a real inspiration to us guys who were following him in age and retirement. You were very lucky to have spent a life with such a "character".
Thanks for being there for all of us.

Condolence: Velma and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. I didn't know him well, but in my two assessments with him and Vel in the last few months, I could see he was very special. He will be missed. You are all in my thoughts.

Condolence: I knew Bud & Velma from Crystal Mountain and briefly at Boeing while on the Sea Lance program. He and his family could usually be seen with their motor home either at Crystal Mountain or watersports during the summer. His family should be proud to know that family came first in his life. May the best to his wife and family follow all of you. He led by example, and that is something most families have never experienced.

Condolence: Dear Velma and family,

My heart skipped a beat when I heard about the passing of Uncle Bud. He was the guy who said yes to taking a rag-a-muffin kid from Dryden back to Seattle for the summer - and what a wonderful summer it was.

He was so kind, so caring, so genuine and warm....and yes ....so very funny. He was truly a special man and you are so right...the world is a little bit sadder without him.

In time, take comfort in your memories. Thinking of you all.

Teri

Condolence: Dear Vel,

How fortunate Linda and I were to have known Bud!

He exuded great enthusiasm and good humour - a role model for us.

Wenda look forward to seeing you at Hood River, again this coming summer.
