I will miss Susie's grace and infectious smile. I had the good fortune to grow up with Susie in Oak Grove. As cousins, our families did so much together, from beach trips to back yard picnics, trips to Cloud Cap and the coast. We played in the orchards, woods and pastures, along creeks and lakes. Susie was my younger sister Selma's best friend. I was always jealous of Susie because she had a burro and a horse,(pets that my father would never allow) and a collection of dolls with beautiful clothes that her mother Helen sewed. Susie was such a happy little girl that grew into a beautiful, gracious woman. I am so sorry for the loss her family and friends must feel. I thought if anyone could beat this disease it would be Susie, with the help of her family and great friend Delora Portner. I will miss Susie's infectious smile, her courage and zest for life.
