Katherine A  Eaton
Katherine A. Eaton passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon with her three daughters by her side on February 27, 2012. Kay was born in Los Angeles, California November 2, 1923 to Timothy and Helen Mahoney, the second of five children. Kay graduated from Hollywood High School and attended Junior College for music and business classes.

Kay married Clyde P. Eaton on August 21, 1949. They lived in Burbank and eventually bought their first home in Van Nuys, California. Three daughters soon followed; Patti, Terri and Kathy. Kay loved her music and sang in many choral groups. She worked at the Screen Actors Guild in the early years and later as a legal secretary. The family eventually moved to Northridge where Kay became a very successful realtor and was well known for her quick mind, expertise and charm. Kay enjoyed traveling and water skiing with family and friends. Later on they enjoyed many happy years living on the lake in Westlake Village near Thousand Oaks, California.

Kay was very good with people and they loved and missed her when she moved to Oregon eight years ago to be with her children. She eventually developed some beautiful friendships in Oregon and loved playing Mah Jongg, reading books, listening to her music and entertaining her family and friends.

Kay was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who is survived by her husband of 62 years Clyde (Red) Eaton, her children: Patti and Les Henry, Terri and Greg Herbert and Kathy and Brad Nichols. Her grandchildren: Erin and Joel Sugg, Richard Rummens, Kori and Rian Anderson, Tyler and Laura Herbert, Jeff Nichols, Brett Nichols, Clint and Lisa Henry, Brian and Rebecca Henry and Jeffrey Henry. Four great grandchildren: Scotty Sugg, Brady Sugg, Amelia Anderson, Jason Henry, Isaak Henry and Sadie Henry. Kay is also survived by two sisters: Eileen Wicks and Pat Dunlap and a sister-in-law Dorothy Mahoney; two brothers-in-law: Eldon Bowman and Bill Dunlap. Kay is also survived by many nieces and nephews all of whom who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents Timothy and Helen Mahoney, her brother Tim Mahoney and her sister Mary Bowman.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Kay’s life is planned for 1:00 p.m., March 17 at The Neighborhood Church (21065 SW Stafford Rd, Tualatin, OR 97062) private interment will preceded the service at Willamette National Cemetery. Chaplain Matt Smith of Signature Hospice will officiate.
