Jack D  Nyseth
Jack D Nyseth passed away on March 03, 2018 at home surrounded by family in Hood River, Oregon. Jack was born on August 03, 1941 in Hood River, Oregon to Joseph and Jean Ann (Fredricks) Nyseth. He attended Hood River Schools until senior year at Hood River High School.
He then joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in December 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He worked various jobs in Hood River and The Dalles. In March of 1964 he joined The Navy and was discharged June of 1966 in San Francisco, California.
He married Caroline L. Morby on September 12, 1964 in Mill A, Washington. They had three children Mark, Teresa and Pamela. They were married for 52 years. Jack lost his beloved wife in November 22, 2016 to lung cancer.
Jack worked at Union Pacific Rail Road starting in July of 1966. He started as a telegrapher. He then transferred to Mount Hood Rail Road in 1971 as brakemen conductor and engineer until 1988. He returned to United Pacific Rail Road in LaGrande in 1988 and retired as a conductor engineer after 36 years in 2001.
Jack enjoyed coaching little league baseball and girls softball. He also umpired several years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Caroline, his sister Kay and granddaughter Katie. He is survived by his three children Mark, Teresa(Ken), and Pamela; granddaughters Melissa, Nikki, and Brittany; two great grandsons Christopher and Aaron Guzman- Deaville.
