Gene contributed so much to the swimming community and will be sorely missed. It was always good to see Gene officiating a meet as you knew things would be run smoothly and any problems would be solved in a calm and logical manner. Gene always had time to stop and say, "Hello" in a manner which said he was happy and glad to be at the pool. The Portland Aquatic Club staff, parents and swimmers salute the dedication of this "Giant" to our sport. Thanks, Gene for sharing your weekends with us.
