Although I never met Nellie, I received a special gift from her when I graduated from high school in 2005. She gave me a necklace that was given to her from her aunt, my great grandmother. This October, when I found out I was having a baby girl, my husband and I decided to name her Nellie, in honor of Nellie Jean. On February 17, we welcomed into the world Nellie Mae.
