As a physical therapist I had the opportunity to work with Wayne for many years. I always admired the way he faced adversity in regards to his disability. He never failed to lose his humor and he always made others feel better. I remember when he came to our clinic one day and saw that one of my colleagues was pregnant. he wanted to make sure she was going to name her girl Waynena. We have gotten a laugh out of that for the past 5 years and will continue to do so. He knew my husband, Steve long before me. Steve is also a spinal cord injury survivor and Wayne would always ask about him. We will miss him around here but I know the past few years have been a struggle. Rest with your loved ones.
