Sister moments

I have been reflecting on the life Judy and I shared for so many years as we were just two years apart. I have many happy memories of our early childhood but I am finding that a scene from later on, when I was in college, keeps coming to my mind. That took place in Bend, OR when Ken began working there. They started their family there with the birth of Kenny Mike and I was honored by being asked to be his godmother. I took the bus to Bend and found the new parents relaxing a little in their role as parents to a newborn. I felt the warmth of their home and in their family and they shared that with me by treating me like an honored guest. Ken arranged for me to take my first airplane ride with a pilot friend of his and I found the view of the area there exhilarating in spite of my fear of heights. The baptism was beautiful as was my nephew and my visit there was very special and close. Judy and Ken went on to having two more beautiful children and all of their children are special people. I treasure those memories. I miss you, Judy. I am grateful that you are now enjoying the peace you have earned.
