Carroll was the first jogger I ever saw. I remember watching him running around the old HR high school track during his lunch break in 1969. Pre Nike, this seemed like such an odd thing to do. Now that I'm a runner myself, I see him as a man ahead of his time. God bless him. He was an inspiration.
