I'm sorry I didn't get this in sooner. I wanted to share a story about Rachel Shield's when she ran the Daycare center at Asbury Methodist Church. At that time I worked at U.S.Bank downtown and my then husband Darrell Nastasi managed the heights branch of U.S.Bank back in the early 80's. The girls who I waited for so long where approximately 3- 6 years old. I had taken them out and put them in a smaller private daycare and after a short time the lady dropped them over a weekend. I was paniced as I had job responsibilities for my family, I called Rachel Shields and she easied my mind and took the girls back right away. I believe, to this day that they benefited from the experiences at the church daycare. They both grew up to be great moms, workers, people and contributing members of society. They haven't had it at all easy with a lot of uprooting and difficulties in life as we all have. I think I worked for their daycare costs but gave them more social experiences that perhaps helped them deal with a lot of different people/worlds and an understanding of life. I saw Rachel at my sister Sharon's re-marriage a few years ago and she was surprised I recognized her. One never forgets a great person, kindness and consideration in life no matter how small you might think it is. God Bless Rachel Shields and her family.
