Life Story for Vivian Kekailaa Foster

Vivian Kekailaa Foster
Wife, mother, grandmother, friend and longtime Hood River community member, Vivian Kekailaa Foster, passed away surrounded by her o’hana on June 18, 2018 at the age of 81. Born in Honolulu Hawaii in 1937 she moved to California in the 1960s and then to Hood River Oregon in the 1970s where she spent the rest of her days under the careful watch of Mt. Hood which she referred to as “her boyfriend.”

She worked for Hood River Hospital for 25 years in the admitting office before retiring. In that capacity she bore witness to countless personal highs and lows of her fellow community members and always did so with a smile, an empathetic manner and unending grace. Many trips to Rosauers included being stopped and thanked for her kinds words or silent support for people experiencing some of life’s most difficult moments. It was with the gratitude of her family that she was in the care of some of her old HRMH co-workers when she left this world.

Please join her husband, seven surviving children and spouses, countless beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters both biological and of the heart and all her wonderful friends in wishing her Aloha ‘Oe as we deliver her into the arms of her predeceased parents, siblings, children, grandchildren and friends for safe keeping until we meet again.

Updates on any services can be obtained via Anderson’s Funeral Home’s website and a future announcement in the Hood River News.
