Stephen Lowell Struck passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 12, 2014 at his home in Hood River, Oregon. Stephen was born on March 6, 1957 and was 57 years of age at his passing.
Stephen was born in Hood River, Oregon to James M. and Mary (Massee) Struck and grew up in the Hood River Valley. He attended school at Parkdale Elementary and graduated from the Hood River Valley High School. Stephen attended Oregon State University.
Stephen was a journeyman for Tri-Met in Portland. He also learned and enjoyed working in other departments in this industry for the past eight years. He appreciated all that our great outdoors had to offer including swimming, fishing, skiing, hunting and gardening. He had great enthusiasm for everything he tried. He was a person with a big heart and a joyful spirit.
On April 17th, 1987 Stephen married Urszula Zdrojewska at Vancouver, Washington and they had 27 years together. They enjoyed traveling to various Hot Springs around the Northwest and Canada, visiting Europe where Urszula is from, and working on their project of building their home in Hood River.
Stephen is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Urszula Struck of Hood River, Oregon; son, James Struck of California; brother David of Maine; step-Mom, Arlene Struck; step-sister Theresa; and step-brother Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sheldon; and step-brother, Mike Puddy.
A special gathering of family and friends will be held at the family farm on the Columbia River (305 Morton Road, Hood River) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17th, 2014.
