Sharon Lee Klaviter was born September 20, 1936 in Fulda, Minnesota to Clarence and Lorraine (Schelenberg) Uttech passed away March 16, 2016 at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in the The Dalles, Oregon. She was 79 years old. Sharon graduated from Madelia High School, Class of 1953. That same year, she married Herbert R. Klaviter on November 27th, in Madelia, Minnesota.

Sharon operated a daycare in her home for 20 plus years and then went on to fall in love with diamonds and gems. She worked in the jewelry industry, as a manager of Weisfield's, in the 1970’s in Bend, Oregon until she was transferred to The Dalles’ Weisfield’s where she became a certified gemologist. In her 25 years as the manager in The Dalles, she received countless awards and recognition for her work in sales and service. She retired in 2002.

Sharon loved spending time with her first, last and forever love, Herbie. Sharon’s children and grandchildren was another place where she knew no limits of love. She loved her puppy Angel. Sharon was an excellent artist, cook, seamstress and always quick with her wit, a wink and a smile. She is loved as much as she loved, and will be missed.

Sharon is survived by her siblings: Richard Uttech and Family, Pr Du Sac, Wisconsin and John Uttech and Family of Mankato, Minnesota. Her children: Kevin & Patti Klaviter, Boardman, Oregon; Todd & Debi Klaviter, The Dalles, Oregon; and Steve & Connie Klaviter, The Dalles, Oregon. Her grandchildren: Casey & Leanne Klaviter The Dalles, Oregon; Kelsie West, The Dalles, Oregon; Rachel Storkel, Oklahoma; Dylan Klaviter, The Dalles, Oregon; Steven Klaviter The Dalles, Oregon; Danielle Klaviter, Molalla, Oregon and 5 great-grandchildren

Services will be held April 3rd, 2016 at 4:00PM at Bethany Lutheran Church 2323 E 12th St The Dalles, Oregon 97058. Reception to follow.
