Life Story for Norman "Norm" John Severson

Norman "Norm" John Severson
Norman John Severson was born in Portland, Oregon to Olaf Jens Severson and Lottie May Edwards Severson. He is survived by his daughter Pearl and his sisters Pearl and Barbara Jean. Norman was raised in Parkdale, Oregon with his siblings Pearl, Carl, and Jeannie. He was married to the love of his life Helen Marie Gray Severson for just short of 52 years, who preceded him in death in 1994.

Norman leaves behind a legacy of 5 generations beginning with his 4 daughters Deanna, Dorene, Norma, and Pearl. He had 9 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren. To the end he loved the outdoors and back in the day was an avid square dancer and accordion player. Norm remained independent until his last days and was still living in the home his uncle Sigvart built 69 years ago, surrounded by the orchard he planted. His last years were filled with the music he loved that he played by ear on the piano, taking “ fun rides” with those he loved and snuggling his dog Scampy II and his cat Abner. He will be dearly missed.

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday January 13th, 2018 at Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031. Committal service will follow at the Upper Valley Cemetery of Parkdale, Oregon.
