Obituary for Naomi M. Parks

Naomi M.  Parks
Naomi Marie Parks, a longtime Hood River, Oregon resident, died September 3, 2008 at her residence. She was 69 years of age.

Services will be held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Anderson’s Tribute Center. A potluck reception will follow at 1941 Markham Road.

Naomi was born January 14, 1939 in Hamlin, West Virginia to Cleo and Opal (Lovejoy) Cummings. She was raised and educated in West Virginia, In 1956 she and Nay Parks
were married and she moved to Hood River, Oregon. Naomi worked for over twenty years packing fruit at Diamond Fruit and Stadelman Fruit. She had also worked as a bartender at the American Legion Club and the Eagles Lodge. Naomi was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a former member of the American Legion. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and watching game shows and soap operas.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband Nay Parks, son Robert Parks and his wife Cheri and daughter Marva Parks, all of Hood River, Oregon, brother Raymond Cummings and sisters Betty and Ann Cummings. Five grandchildren, William Shore, Shara Swanson, Jesse Smock, Clayton Smock and Brittany Parks and six great grandchildren also survive.

Private interment will be at Pine Grove Butte Cemetery.
