Goodbye Mary Jones

Aunt Mary, I will miss you very much. It is hard to imagine that you will no longer be here with us. So many events will never be the same. It is so hard to write this as so many memories come to mind. I want to thank you for welcoming me into your family and treating me as your own. When my Mother passed you told me that I could be your kid and that since I was always around nobody would notice anyway and you shared the story with me about Jeannie as a little girl asking you why everytime you packed a suitcase did you have to bring home another kid:) Thank you for teaching my girls how to paint, plant dahlias and garden whether they were in the mood or not. Thank you for giving me the receipe for Pear/Pineapple jam. It remains my best seller. Thank you for the paintings that I proudly display in my home and for my magnate collection (32). Thank you, thank you for being you. I will always hold you close in my heart and will never be able to can pears without thinking of you. I am still sorry about not following your explicit instructions about how to care for your favorite plant after your hip surgery, breaking it and trying to fool you by taping it back together with scotch tape. Susie was so right when she said you would notice at first glance. Thank for forgiving me for that and for reminding me that you fell on your hip not your head. I love you Mary Jones and it is with a heavy heart that I say Goodbye to you. I know that you will continue to watch over all of us that you are leaving behind and that you will be joining so many of your loved ones.
