Mary Ellen Warford passed away on May 11, 2018 with family by her side at Providence Brookside Manor in Hood River, Oregon. Mary was born June 9, 1941and was 76 years of age at the time of her passing.

Life Story for Mary Ellen Warford

Mary Ellen Warford passed away peacefully with family at her side at Brookside Manor in Hood River, OR, on Friday, May 11, 2018. She was born on June 9, 1941 in Washington D.C.

She married Michael Warford on July 11, 1964 in Belleville, Illinois. They moved to Lake Ozark, Missouri in 1980 with their two children where she worked as a cook at School of the Osage. She loved her family and everyone in her life with her whole heart. Mary Ellen was the life of the party and made everyone she encountered feel accepted and loved. She said yes to every opportunity to travel and make new memories. Her joyous spirit and love of life will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Warford; father, Harry Grenawalt; mother, Margaret (Roberts) Grenawalt; brothers, Elmer Grenawalt and William Grenawalt; sister, Patricia Grenawalt; a sister-in-law, Patricia Parker, and a brother-in-law, William Warford.

Surviving are her children, Michelle (Dennis) Redmond of Hood River, Ore.; Joseph (Rose) Warford, of Versailles, Mo.; sister, Shirley (Vernon) Holt of Columbia, Ill.; grandchildren, Toby (Angel) Cook of Elkland, Mo.; Talesha Fowler of Jefferson City, Mo.; Amanda Redmond of Bend, Ore.; Addison Redmond of Hillsboro, Ore.; T.J and Wyatt Warford of Versailles, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Cook, Cody Borts, Abby Coons, Kaytlin Cook, Sophia Fowler; sister in law, Jeannine Davis-Warford, sister-in-law, Peggy (Kevin) Patterson, and brother-in-law, Randy Parker; and many nieces and nephews.

After her move to Oregon in 2012, Brookside Manor became her home and the staff her extended family. Her family owes them a debt of gratitude for treating her with respect and empathy in every interaction. They would also like to thank Providence Hospice of the Gorge for everything they did to ensure that their mom’s last days were filled with comfort and compassion.

A service will be held at Brookside Manor (1550 Brookside Drive Hood River, OR) on June 9th, 2018. A time will be set soon. On July 21st from 3pm-5pm a Celebration of Life will be held at the Grandview Clubhouse (301 Grandview Drive Lake Ozark, MO 65049).

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123) or a charity of your choosing.
