Obituary for Marjorie Farrell

Marjorie Farrell
Marjorie Louise Farrell of Hood River, OR, passed away January 6, 2016 at Evergreen Physical Therapy Nursing Home in The Dalles. She was 94 years old. Marjorie was born in Platte Center, Nebraska, January 24, 1921 to Harry and Salina Sheidel. Marjorie served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945 where she was schooled in Dental Technology, in Paris Island, SC.

Marjorie and her husband Maurice Farrell grew up together in Platte Center and married after they both served in World War II. After marrying, the couple indirectly moved to Hood River, OR where they raised their family. She was the mother of Mark (Portland, OR), Keith (deceased) and Thomas (The Dalles, OR).

She took care of her family and home, most of her life. Marjorie loved the Lord and serving her church. She spent many years playing the piano and serving as the Sunday school teacher in the Baptist Church of Hood River. She and Maurice also spent one year in Macau China as missionaries, which was a great joy to both of them.

Marjorie is survived by her sons Mark and Thomas, a grandchild (Kristen) and two great grandchildren (Raven and Avery).

A graveside service with Naval Military Honors will be held 11 AM, Monday, January 18, 2016 at Idlewilde Cemetery (980 Tucker Rd., Hood River, OR 97031).
