Leroy H. Daley, of Mt Hood-Parkdale, Oregon, passed on February 3rd, 2018. He was born on April 25th, 1952, in Seoul, South Korea. He was adopted by Agnes and Howard Daley, and when his brother Niles and sister Marla arrived, the Daley family was whole.

A graveside service is planned for 12:00 p.m., Saturday February 10, 2018 at the Upper Valley Cemetery of Parkdale. A Celebration of life will follow his graveside service at Leroy’s home.

Leroy is survived by his brother Niles George (Rena), sister Marla Daley Jackson (Emmitt), niece Sara Schmidt (Robert), nephews Nick George (Danielle), Scott George (Trevina), and Tyler George; nieces Jessica George, Rachel Ford (Terry), Christi LeMieux, and Dawn LeMieux (Scott Lamb); cousins Ruth Beecher, Lynda Harvey, Dewey Harvey, Nancy Housley (Dennis), and Margaret George. He is also survived by his many friends, loved ones, and his dog, Little Fox.

He is predeceased by his parents Howard (1986) and Agnes (1999) Daley, his brothers-in-law Vincent Robbins (1989), and William Askins (2013), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leroy graduated from Wy’east High School, and went on to attend Blue Mountain Community College, and the University of Oregon, where he majored in fine arts. Many years later, he retired from the Hood River County Public Works Department, where he worked as a surveyor and draftsman.

In his spare time, he also drew up plans for more than 300 local homes and businesses. Leroy was passionate about his art, and is a well-known artist who has many paintings showcased in several homes and businesses in the Hood River Valley.

Many who knew him will recall his love for his own home, which was bedecked in the art he loved so much. His “pad”, as he affectionately called it, has hosted many such memorable events as Super Bowls, holiday dinners, and impromptu get-togethers, usually with a drink, and conversation.

Leroy will be deeply missed; He was irreplaceable, and while our lives may be empty without him, he has enriched us all in so many ways. His legacy will live on for many years to come.
