Life Story for Lawrence "Gene" Lynn

Lawrence “Gene” Lynn, 95, passed away October 19, 2017 with family by his side at the Hood River Memorial Hospital.

Gene was born September 15, 1922 in Rodney, Iowa to George and Anna (Daniels) Lynn. He met his wife Geraldine “Jerry” Lynn in Long Beach, California. They were married 59 years until her passing in January of 2017. They were best friends and partners and if you saw one of them, you knew the other wasn’t far behind. Gene and Jerry traveled extensively, with too many family RV vacation to even count. Some of his fondest memories revolved around the family trips and camping all around the US and Canada. They were also the most gracious hosts, always welcoming friends and family to visit, showing them the local sights and always finding time to make their guests some homemade ice cream. During these times, they forged many close long lasting friendships. In 1980 they retired and moved to Hood River, Oregon to be closer to family. This quickly became home as their sons relocated there as well.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jerry; son, Richie and grandson, Shane Charles Lynn. Gene is survived by his children Chris, Scott, Maryann and Penny; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service was held at 2:30p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Anderson’s Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, Oregon 97031).

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
