Condolences

Condolence From: Dennis Lindseth
Condolence: Johnny was an awesome guy in many ways! I truly feel honored to have been his friend.

My friendship with Johnny started about 30 years ago when I started visiting the Hood River airport. During conversations with the the local pilots I would often hear about this guy named Johnny Roberts. It was Johnny Robets this and Johnny Roberts that. Finally, one day I made it a point to meet him at Aero Spray. Within one short visit I realized that this guy is about as down to earth and genuine as they come. That was the beginning of one the best friendships I've had.

I have many found memories of Johnny etched in my mind and I am thankful for that.

Condolence: Charlotte,
When a classmate lives 2-3 miles away and I see her SO seldom and knowing she has just gone through one of the most difficult times in her life I would be in error to not come to her in thought, word, and deeds. True friends hold up and support each other.

Condolence: Dearest Charlotte and family,
Words can never fully express our heartfelt sympathy for all of you during this difficult time. Johnny was such a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to many. Every memory that I have of Johnny is a pleasant one. It's rare to find a person as caring and thoughtful as Johnny was. He would've given a stranger the shirt off his back if they needed it!
The kids always begged "can I go with you?" when Johnny was heading to the hangar. He was always so patient with them while they explored and asked a million questions. Johnny generously shared his life with so many.
15 years later, I still chuckle thinking of our little Desireé, quietly escaping to your house at barely 3 years old, standing at the foot of your bed, waiting for the two of you to wake up, while eating a banana that she had swiped from your kitchen on her way through. We all shared lots of laughs over that one, didn’t we?
When Kyle was a little boy, he called every airplane or helicopter a “Johnny”. Anytime he saw one, he would shout out, “Look at the Johnny!” He would build helicopters and airplanes with his Legos and they were always referred to as a “Johnny”. What an influence Johnny had on all kinds of people, young and old.
Every time we saw Johnny (and Charlotte), they were always surrounded by people who loved them. When our kids would come out to see them, they would be so excited to see them plus the grandkids who had come to hang out with their beloved grandpa and grandma.
Over a decade ago, Johnny gave our kids their first airplane ride. I don't know whose smile was bigger - the kids' or Johnny's! And we never had to worry because we knew Johnny would return with them safely.
So to Charlotte, Grant, Sandy, Terry, Cathy, Michael, Joey, Tyson, Maggie, Shane, Shannon, Aiden and the rest of the Roberts family: I pray that all the wonderful memories from your lives together will keep you strong, warm your hearts and keep you smiling. Remember how much all of you are loved by so many who hold you in their thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of your cherished loved one.
