In reading of Jean's passing we've had mixed feelings, but mom and I know she's in heaven. What a warm, kibnd lady she was. As children, we met her at her shop. Mom took us there to learn to create beautiful ceramic pieces. We got fairly good at it, enough so that Jean felt we should enter our items into the county fair. The first awards we ever won outside of school as children were ribbons for what we made at Jean's. She was always so kind and made it fun. She'd carefully take time to lovingly show us what needed to be done and teach us patience to be able to create something pretty. Jean indicated that what we made would be something that'll be around a long time, so we should do our very best. That led to lots of ribbons including some blue ones. And over the years, to this day, when I see these plates, cups, and other things she helped us make, it always brings a warm picture of Jean into my mind. Mom made many snowy ceramic Christmas trees, including ours that we use every year to this day. It's more than 40 years old and it just wouldn't be Christmas without it lit and surrounded by decorations. These hand made crafts will always be a memory of her and of my mom as they were created with lots of love from those two people. She and Irv were always kind neighbors to mom, too, and we loved her. God gave her many gifts and she shared them, but like in Corinthians 13, she modeled what God asks all of us to do...give the greatest gift: Love! Our sincere condolences to David and Jan, and your entire family. We've lost two wonderful neighbors--your parents. We know they're together again.
