Jeanne A. Huckaba passed away July 4, 2018 at Providence Brookside Manor in Hood River, Oregon with family by her side. Jeanne was born September 15, 1918 and was 99 years of age at the time of her passing.

Life Story for Jeanne Huckaba
Jeanne Andre (Clark) Huckaba passed away on July 4, 2018 at the age of 99, just a few months shy of her 100th birthday. She was born September 15, 1918.Jeannie is survived by her children Bruce Charles of Hood River, Oregon; Nancy Jean (David) Radley of Hood River and Claudia Ann (Jerry) Baker of Billings, Montana; grandchildren Jesi, Rhian, Alyssa, Jeannie and Brian and great grandchildren Elly, Caleb, Emma, Wyatt, Kinsey, Hannah and Abby.
A native of Butte, Montana, Jeanne graduated from Butte High School in 1936 and was an avid “Bulldog” fan having attended many of her high school reunions, including her class’s last one, the 60th.
Jeanne married Stan Huckaba in 1943. Stan was a metallurgical engineer and they lived and raised their family in Cooke City and Butte, Montana; Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Washington; Vancouver, British Columbia and Littleton, Colorado.
Jeanne talked fondly of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her many close friends. She also often spoke of her time at St. James Presbyterian church, her P.E.O. sisters, her neighbors in Littleton and her membership in the Women’s Auxiliary International of Mining Engineers.
Her last years were spent in Hood River where she enjoyed the companionship of her surviving sister, Shirley Summers. Many nights were spent as “the sisters” reminisced about their long lives and how lucky they were to be together. During her time in Hood River she was lovingly cared for by Nancy and Bruce and enjoyed frequent visits from Claudia and other family members.
Jeanne was cremated and her remains will be interred at St. James Presbyterian in Denver, CO. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice or by giving a loved one “a hug from Jeanne”.
