Condolence From: Linda Wishart DeCota
Condolence: I'm the oldest daughter of Harry & Melba Wishart. My Dad & Mom were great friends of Jack and Dorothy. I know that Jack meant a lot to my Dad and since both my parents are deceased, my siblings Judy, Mike, Tom and I send our deepest sorrows for your loss. May all your great memories bring comfort to your family.

Condolence From: John Spaulding
Condolence: My condolences on Jack's passing. My father worked with Jack at Hanel Lumber for many years. I worked for Jack for several summers in the late 70's. I remember one late summer afternoon I was working in the packaging shed with Jack (where he was when he wasn't supervising his crew) when one employee pointed out to Jack that another employee was leaving 5 minutes early to go home for the day. Jack told him, "Don't worry, he will make up for it by coming in 5 minutes late tomorrow." We got a pretty good kick out of that and I never forgot it. You might have thought with that story that Jack was a pushover as a boss but that was far from the case. Jack was fair and very forgiving as long as you got your work done and did it well. The guys respected Jack and saw how hard he worked and how competent he was. It didn't seem like they got out of line very often.
Jack was a very good bowler too and anchored a team I was on for several years. It was easy to see that he was an athletic guy and that he enjoyed the competition.
I didn't see Jack very often after he retired but when I did, he was always so curious about what I was up to and how my family was doing. Just a great guy that will be missed.
Again, condolences from John, Jill, Paul and Emma Spaulding

Condolence: He who has gone, so we but cherish his memory, abides with us, more potent, nay, more present than the living man. I will miss you Grandpa Jack.

Condolence: Dear Dot, Larry, Steve, Debbie
Our hearts are saddened with the news of Jacks passing.
Praying for GODS arms to surround you at this time, and give the peace and comfort that only HE can give.
Wishing we could be there with you at this time, but it isn't possible at this time.
We all have many wonderful memories, we need to keep these memories alive. I like to think of them as KODAK memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our Love
Virgil & Jan

Condolence: Jack and Dot were the best neighbors we could ever have. Since leaving Hood River, we have thought of them often. We miss Jack's stories about WWII and his kindness in helping neighbors with anything they needed. He was a wonderful man and we are sad to hear of his passing. We pray for your comfort, Dot. Our kids certainly miss your cookie jar :)

Condolence: We are very lucky to have been blessed with having Grandpa in our lives. The love that the two of you have for each other is an example to aspire to. That love goes on through your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond. Grandpa's life and the strength and love he showed during it were extraordinary. He was a man of quiet grace and unwavering strength. I am so grateful that he was and is a part of my life and that my children got to know and love him. We love you and will miss you until we are together again.
