Isabel was a long time family friend. The night before I was born my Dad and Mom drove down the back way to visit Isabel and Loyd. They idea was that the bumpy road might wake me up and start things moving. It worked.
My parents spent many evenings with Isabel and Loyd. I still remember the talk and laughter (no one watched television or stared blankly at electronic devices). And late at night Isabel made "Izzy eggs" which were fried over easy with the yolk cracked. In bacon grease. And with bacon.
When Mom was more mobel we would drive to Isabel's and they would talk and share. Again without the aid of TV or electronic devices.
Mom and I will miss her. And with that comes the regret of not taking the time to see her more often. She was there my entire life and it is hard to believe she is gone.
