Edith Faye  McCafferty Elward
Edith Faye McCafferty Elward, a Parkdale, Oregon resident, passed away March 25, 2010 at Flagstone Senior Living in The Dalles, Oregon. She was 81 years of age.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Idlewilde Cemetery.

Edith was born November 2, 1928 in Montrose, Colorado to Elmer and Jesse (Louthan) Williams. After graduating from high school the family moved to Parkdale, Oregon where soon after she married Norman McCafferty. They had five children. Norman died in 1972. She worked in the fruit industry and also was a cook at the “Y” Inn for years. Later she married Donald Elward. Edith enjoyed gardening, sewing,cooking and baking. One of her greatest joys was cooking and baking for others.

She is survived by four children, Donna Lindsey of The Dalles; Gale McCafferty of Parkdale, Daren and wife Martha McCafferty of Parkdale; Rose and husband Doug Hepner of White Salmon and brother Lester Williams and wife Eunice of Yuma, Arizona. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by husbands Norman in 1972 and Donald in 1995, two brothers, five sisters and daughter Sharon.
