I Met David In the Summer of 1979

I came upon David's Obituary becuase I am planning a trip to the Hood River area this June. I live in New York. The story I have about David fits what was written about him.

In the summer of 1979 I had just graduated from college and was travelling around the country with a buddy of mine. While camping at Badlands National Park I was changing the oil on my car. David came over and asked me if I needed any help. We talked about the places we planned on going to and he told us to stop at his house when we were passing through Hood River. When we did he and Paula treated us like old friends. We had been camping for at least a month at that point and they allowed us to sleep in their RV camper. It felt like heaven. The next morning we came into the house for an amazing breakfast. Another treat after eating camping food. I am recently retired but never forgot the Dorzab family. To this day when I tell people of my cross country trip I always tell the story of their kindness. I still have the pictures of the whole family when we visted them.

I was sad to see his passing. God Bless them.
