Condolences

Condolence From: Sandy Macnab
Condolence: Roz and family,
News of Dave's passing was certainly a shocker. I often wondered how he was doing then about Christmas saw that he just published a book and I thought, "I'm glad he's still working" and knew he must be happy to publish on a subject that was so dear to him.

He was mentor to me and helped shaped my early Extension career, but as another agent once told me, it would have been nice if I modeled some of the good traits by many of my early career mentors. One thing my experience with Dave taught me was to always be sure to share what I have learned with new agents so they don't have to undergo the same "not knowing" how things operate, to learn from our mistakes. He always had an accuarte assessment of what was needed.

He will always be a part of my life and not a person to be forgotten.
God bless you at this time and help you appreciate the positive things Dave represented.

Sincerely,
Sandy Macnab

Condolence: It was a joy knowing and working with Dave--a real professional and one of the finest tree fruit extension agents anywhere. Even more important, he was a fine man.

Our thoughts are with you all.

Condolence: I was fortunate to have known Dave for many years. He was a honest and sincere person who led by example. As a County Agent he was widely respected by all of those in the tree fruit industry. Dave had a huge impact in leading the industry into the 21st century. As the County Agent in Milton-Freewater that followed Dave's tenure there I know first hand that the growers held him in the highest esteem. Thank you Dave, you'll be missed, but not forgotten. Tom

Condolence From: Kent Waliser
Condolence: To all of Dave's family. Dave was a contemporary of my father, Clarence Waliser. I remember from an early age how important his advice was to the success of our small farm. Dave is one of the people that inspired me to become a horticulturist I always enjoyed speaking with him and the counsel he provided. I will always remember that and continue to try to contribute to the industry just as he did.
One of his strengths to me was that he was good at listening and from that usually had a gem of an idea that he was willing to share. People like Dave are always missed because they give so much. I hope the entire family understands that and takes comfort that he inspired many of us. Kent Waliser.

Condolence: As a horticulturist, I always valued Dave's innovation, hard work and willingness to share good information. I remember a highlight of our most recent contact when we had the Retired County Agent's summer outing in Hood River county. He helped show us the resources of the area and made us feel welcome. He was a personal friend and I was saddened to learn of his passing.
