Life Story for Cosmo M. Del Carpine

Cosmo M.  Del Carpine
Cosmo M. Del Carpine passed away March 31, 2016 at his home in Hood River, Oregon surrounded by family.

Cosmo’s passing leaves much heartache with his family and friends services are planned for Saturday, April 9th, 2016 with viewing at Anderson's Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (1501 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon). Graveside Rites with Military Honors will follow at Idlewilde Mausoleum.

Cosmo was born September 30, 1929 in New York, New York one of twelve children born to Cosmo & Louisa (Yezza) Del Carpine. He grew up in New York City and after high school he worked for a short-time in a print shop silk screening before serving our country proudly from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. After his return and honorable discharge he married Theresa Focarile and they were blessed with two children. Cosmo started working for the New York City Transit Authority, where he worked for 25 years until retiring in 1988. While in New York he was an active in the Boy’s Club of New York as a youth and later as a supporter.

Cosmo and Theresa moved in 1988 to Orlando, Florida where they lived for twenty-eight years until moving to Hood River in 2015. He loved his sports; playing when he was younger and later watching… especially his New York Giants! If it wasn’t sports on TV it was FOX News. But above all he loved his family and any opportunity to be with them.

Cosmo is survived by his wife, Theresa Del Carpine of their home in Hood River, Oregon; two sons, Michael (and wife, Anne) Del Carpine of Fort Meyers, Florida and Antonio “Tony” (and wife, Melissa) Del Carpine of Hood River, Oregon; granddaughter, Samantha (and husband, David) Phillips of Jefferson, Oregon and Zachary Del Carpine of Hood River; and sister, Helen Del Carpine of Morristown, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
