Life Story for Colleen Kay Berg
COLLEEN KAY BERG
Mrs. Colleen Kay Berg (née Crist), of The Dalles, Oregon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 66.
Colleen was born to parents Charles and Betty Crist on December 3, 1950 in Portland, Oregon. She grew up as the youngest of three children. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, Pleasant, CA, in 1970 and graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Colleen married Merlin F. Berg, Jr on June 9, 1973, and the couple had two children. Colleen was a beloved teacher that taught many grades in her tenure from a one classroom school in Montana, 5th Grade at Hulet Elementary in Holbrook, AZ, 4th grade in The Dalles, OR and Early Childhood Development at the local community college.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Merlin F Berg, Jr.; her son and his wife, Kyle and Amanda Berg, Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Katie Berg, The Dalles, OR; her mother, Betty M. Harry, Antioch, CA; her sister and husband, Charlene and Marty Ryan, Antioch, CA; her aunt, Maxine Horton, Woodburn, OR; her cousins, 3 nieces, a nephew, 3 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Crist, “Papa” Orville Harry, her brother, David Crist, and sister-in law Barbara Crist.
Services are pending at this time with arrangements under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center Celilo Chapel 204 E. 4th Street, The Dalles, Oregon 97058.
