Life Story for Chica Hansen

Fay "Chica" Hansen born in Redmond, Oregon, September 3, 1947, to Bob and Dickse (Keyes) Williams, Chica passed into eternal resting October 13, 2015, in Portland, Oregon.
Chica is predeceased by her parents Bob and Dickse, as well as brothers Pete (daughter Charmin), and Donny.
She is survived by her three children Cheri (Kevin) West, Todd (Shirlan) McKay and children Jessica and Jordan, Cheryl (Jamie) Bofman and children Grayson and Brady. Leaving behind also husband Craig Hansen, with his children Kara (Paul) Hauge and their children Dane and Brooke, as well as Erik (Sara) Hansen.
She will always be remembered by surviving siblings Bob Williams, Ann Elgin, Mary (Tom) Fitzgerald, Kevin (Darlene) Williams, and Matt (Kim) Williams, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Chica was raised in Twickenham, Oregon. Her early school years were attended at Twickenham School, taught by her mother Dickse, the only teacher in the one room school house. School then transitioned into the neighboring town of Mitchell through her high school years graduating in 1965.
After high school she began as a mill worker in Prineville for a short time. Next, marriage and moving to Clarno, Oregon, where she worked alongside then husband, Herb McKay, ranching and raising their three children. Her next chapter was as a restaurant owner and cook at Chica's Country Cafe in Fossil, Oregon. After selling the business she worked at various cooking jobs until marrying Craig Hansen in 2002. They settled in Tygh Valley, Oregon, where they resided until her death.
Chica spent countless hours gardening and was known for her beautiful flowers and landscaping. Hunting and trapping was also a favorite past time - some of her best stories from these adventures. Most of all Chica was a mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren her most prized possession and she theirs.
Per her request no funeral services will be held. Please join use for a potluck memorial Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, 10:00 am, at the place of Tom and Mary Fitzgerald’s in Twickenham, Oregon. We will gather in the school house.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Travis and Beverly Cross Guest Housing Center, 9320 SW Barnes Rd., Portland, Oregon 97225. This is the guest housing service for families and patients of Providence St. Vincent.
