Fearless
Carol was a participant of the tai chi class at the Mt. Hood Towne Hall. Tai chi is known as a health exercise of gentle movements, but it's origins are in the martial arts. That is how Carol practiced- gentle movements performed as if her life depended upon them. She was fearless in her willingness to adapt the standing exercises to her seated position. She understood the power of the circle, doing a grand rotation on the door matt as she entered to gym, to wipe any water off the wheels of her chair. When we discussed how the movements might be used in self defense, she showed how to use and rotate her wheel chair as a powerful extension of her energy. She always came to class with a smile and a cheery word for everyone. She kept her pains to herself but asked thoughtful questions and shared insights that were helpful for all. Hers was a grand spirit that will be missed by all.
