Obituary for Alfred Henry "Al" Cooper

Alfred Henry "Al"  Cooper
Alfred Henry “ Al” Cooper, a longtime Hood River, Oregon resident, died March 8, 2008 at home. He was 84 years of age.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hood River Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Anderson’s Tribute Center.

Alfred was born February 2, 1924 in Fulton Kansas to Conrad and Emma (Goedeke) Cooper. He came with his family at the age of six to Mosier, Oregon. He attended school there and then moved to Hood River, Oregon in 1941 and graduated from Hood River High School in 1946. On November 7, 1975 he and Ralene Newbold were married at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Temple in Oakland, California. Alfred had worked as office manager for the Union Oil Distributorship for many years. In addition to church activities, Alfred enjoyed children, genealogy, rodeos and drawing. (Mostly Horses)

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard and Charles and sister Nellie Porath.

Alfred is survived by his wife Ralene of Hood River, Oregon; sisters Martha Hooker and her husband Ken of Hermiston, Oregon and Emma Barber of Hood River, Oregon. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
