Life Story for Alan Lee Elliott

Alan Lee Elliott
Alan Lee Elliott, age 67, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home in Hood River, Oregon. Alan was born on January 25, 1947 to Bill Roy Elliott and Reta (Coons) Byrd in Yakima, Washington.

Alan received his elementary education in the Hood River Valley and graduated from Wy’east High School in 1965. Upon graduation from high school, Alan entered the United States Army and served our country for three years, with most of that time being stationed in Vietnam.

Upon Alan’s return to the states, he was employed for a short time at the Hood River Police Department and at Les Schwab’s. More recently Alan was employed at the Port of Hood River, working in the toll booth. He truly enjoyed his employment there, getting to meet all walks of life and developed many friendships. Alan also remained active in the American Legion.

Alan is survived by his mother Reta Byrd of Hood River, Oregon; son Richard (Brenda) Elliott of Tigard, Oregon; daughter Diana Olshove of Mosier, Oregon; brothers Roy (Cleta) Elliott of Hood River, Oregon and Grant (Dee) Elliott of Yuma, Arizona; sisters Betty (Randy) Luther of Flagstaff, Arizona, Sharon (Smokey) Mainwaring of Walport, Oregon, and Susan (Mike) Faulkender of Mt.
