Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Sollman

Elizabeth "Betty"  Ann  Sollman
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Sollman passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital at the age of 84.

Betty was born in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska on December 6th, 1929 to Roscoe Bartlett and Mary Nichols. In 1956 she moved from Nebraska to Hood River.

Betty worked for Luhr Jensen for 35 years. Betty enjoyed bowling, collecting lighthouses, being with her sisters of the ESA Delta Kappa, and her volunteer work, but most importantly was the love and joy she had for her family. Betty joined ESA Delta Kappa in 1980 and has held many offices while a member. Betty was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary from November of 1977 until her death and held the offices of Madam President, President and was the Treasurer for over 20 years. Betty attended 35 Conventions and 4 International Conventions as a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Betty is survived by her sons, Raymond Sollman, Carey Sollman and Gary (and wife, Linda) Sollman all of Hood River, Oregon; brothers, Ross (and wife, Kathy) Bartlett and Bob (and wife, Leanne) Bartlett of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Sarah, Tanner, Stacy, Halley, Tim, Jeff and Mike; several great grandchildren and a handful of great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Frank; son, Melvin and brothers, Kenneth and Marvin.

A memorial service for Betty will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5th, 2014 at Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031 with Internment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon, and a time for food and fellowship and the sharing of memories at 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hood River Valley Adult Center 2010 Sterling Drive Hood River, Oregon.
