In 1946, Lora Ann was staying with me and my mother in our apartment at 1st and Oak Streets. I was 6 years old at the time. I don't remember why she was there. But at the time Mom worked at Stadelman's Fruit Co. I think Mom took Lora Ann to the Christmas party where Butch met her. In the following summer, I remember our going on a picnic with them and somewhere I have a picture taken that day. Not long after they were married, they invited us for dinner at their new house and Butch taught me how to play Canasta. They were both always real nice to me.
