Georgia Rochelle  Linn
Georgia R. Linn “Joey” passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2013 at Providence Brookside Manor in Hood River, Oregon. Joey was born January 3, 1921 in Hood River to Wesley and Barbara (Robinson) Clark and was 92 years of age.

Services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Anderson’s Tribute Center (1401 Belmont Ave. Hood River, Oregon) with a reception to follow.

She was born and grew up in the Mt. Hood and Hood River, Oregon areas and in her adult life lived with her husband, Lloyd A. Linn in Southern California; Long Beach, Bellflower and San Marcos and a year in Brookings, Oregon in her retirement years.

Georgia graduated from Hood River High school in 1940; then continued her education at The Dalles Medical Center and Eastern Oregon College in LaGrande and earned her degree as a registered nurse. During her career as a nurse she worked in radiology as well as private practice. After her children were raised she worked at the local hospital however enjoyed private practice better, spending most of her career at the Bellflower Medical Group. She and her husband also owned an avocado ranch in California. Georgia's memberships included; Registered Nurses Association, board member for the Hood River History Museum (past President for 2 years), Oregon Historical Society and attended church at St. Marks Episcopal.

In May of 1947 she married Lloyd Linn at the Methodist Church in Portland.

Joey enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, needle work, sewing, was an amazing seamstress, crochet, knitting, hiking, trips to national parks, train rides, collected barns and lighthouses, loved the Oregon coast, family trips, she also enjoyed researching current health trends always instilling good health practices to her family. Lloyd and Joey loved to travel, Lloyd was involved with the Princess Cruise Lines including the original Love Boat.

The family describes Joey as a very loving woman who was hardworking, creative, always giving back to her community, quick witted, very helpful to the family regarding health matters and loved being with the love her life, Lloyd.

Georgia is survived and will be dearly missed by her Son, Greg Linn (Valerie), Daughter Patti Powers husband Terry Hawley, granddaugher Aimee (Brian) Eaves, great grand Children- Heather, Hannah and Gavin. grandson- John Corey (Trisha) Smothers, children Dylan and Corey, grandson Eric (Aimee) Smothers, greatgrand children- Ivan and Ian, grandson-Christopher Powers and girlfriend Debbie Restilo and children Justin and Max, great nephew Michael Tenney, great nieces Jo Ann Wixon and Barbara Hosford (Mitch)

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Linn.

Memorials are encouraged to be made in Joey’s name to Hood River History Museum and or Hospice of the Gorge.

Private Family Inurnment at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
