Obituary for Mary Ann Felker

Mary Ann  Felker
Mary Ann Felker, 88, of Mount Hood Parkdale, passed away on May 6, 2013 at the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family

A memorial service is planned for 3:00 p.m., May 20th, 2013 at Brookside Manor (1550 Brookside Drive, Hood River, Oregon 97031).

Mary Ann was born on the family farm in Nebraska on December 26, 1924, the daughter of Gustaf and Lydia (Bachmann) Fuhrer. She received an eighth grade education. In 1944, she married Ralph R. Wright, and they continued to live in Nebraska where she raised her family. Mary Ann raised a large garden and would can all the produce she grew. She enjoyed helping on the farm, and also liked to sing and dance, and play games with her children.

Ralph and Mary Ann moved to Wenatchee, Washington in 1961 where they worked together at Tree Top Foods. Everyone that met Mary Ann liked her as she was an easy person to like. She was also a very special mother and will be terribly missed

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter Rose Neill of Parkdale, Oregon, sons Gary Wright of Tacoma, Washington, Elmer Wright of Mattawa, Washington, and Tom (Bonnie) Wright of Moxee, Washington; sister Betty Wesolowski from Wausaukee, Wisconsin, and brother Don Fuhrer of Ladysmith, Minnesota; sister-in-laws Loretta Fuhrer, Enid Fuhrer and Ethel Wright; and Brother-in-law Don Wright; 16 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister, her first husband Ralph R. Wright, second husband Paul Felker, son Gus Wright, and granddaughter Rhonda Wendt.

“It’s God who knows our every need and hears each prayer we say. It’s God who grants our hearts content and guides us home.”
