The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Kathleen Hanel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Growing up with the Hanel's

I have so many memories of time spent with Kathleen and the Hanels. My sister and I spent many summers (and other times) as kids, just down the "runway" at Bill's house. These are some of the most wonderful memories of my childhood! I would walk to Kathleen and Sterings almost daily .... and many of these days we spent swimming at the pool (Janet, taught me to swim in that pool!!). I got to fly in the plane to portland with Sterling and Bill....my only time in a small plane, and ride in Bills orange porche :) Every halloween, I would go "trick or treating" at Kathleen and Sterlings home, and Kathleen ALWAYS had a special treat that she had baked for the "special" trick or treaters. (Just a few memories)

I am blessed to have gotten to spend so much time with the Hanel family, and I am thankful to Kathleen... the smiling, shining star of the Hanel's, that always made me feel a part of the family!!! Although I havent seen her much lately, she has always welcomed me with a smile and a hug! My heart is heavy with the passing of Kathleen, yet i know she's up in heaven smiling down on us all and hugging her boys and Sterling! I need the family to know just how much you all mean to me and that my prayers are with you at this time!!
