I was one of the children that she cared for in her in-home daycare during those few short years she was in La Grande, OR. I had numerous different in-home daycare providers during my childhood but Augusta's home was the only place I enjoyed being. I remember gathering eggs from her chickens and then eating them for breakfast. My sister and I enjoyed playing hide-and-seek and many other games with her children. Thank you Augusta for providing me with some fond memories during my otherwise difficult and painful childhood.
