Obituary for Ruby Dobson

Ruby  Dobson
Ruby Mildred (Sveum) Dobson of Cascade Locks, Oregon passed away April 18, 2016 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Oregon. She was 88 years old at the time of her passing.
Ruby was born September 21, 1927 in Minnewaska, Minnesota to Clarence Sveum and Hazell Carsten Sveum. She attended school in McCeod, North Dakota and later worked in her mother’s restaurant with her sister Bev. Ruby also worked in the hay fields and did barrel racing in the rodeo.
She was married twice in life, first to Bennie Foyt Jr. and then to Allen Dobson in 1964. They lived in Skamania County, Washington.
Ruby loved spending time with family and being outside in her garden. Her life was family, flowers and traveling throughout the United States and Canada.
She was preceded in death by her son Bennie, father Clarence, mother Hazel, sisters Erma, Luiella, and Beverly, brother Irvin, husbands Allen and Ben, and son in law Doug Burrell.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Mildred and her husband Glenn Guftesen, son Gene and his wife Yvonne Foyt, son Anthony, daughter Deborah and her husband Shawn Sholdebrand. She is survived by grandchildren Ginger, Alex, Chris, Mike, Eric, Matthew, Alicia, Anthony, Justyne, Ashley, Rye, Jerimaih, Josh, Natasha, Matt, Ricky, Katie, and Chris. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Logan, Jaxon, Evelynn, Sadie, London, Mia, Brycen, Jaxon, Maddie, Gwen, and Melody.
The family would like to thank all family and friends from far and near who prayed and helped them during this difficult time.
A memorial will be established for family and friends who would like to contribute to a fund to plant flowers and trees in Ruby’s memory.
