Obituary for Michael William Kroeger

Michael Kroeger, 78, of Hood River, died May 27, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to the late John T. Kroeger and Mary Coval Hatch, September 19, 1935, in Hood River, Oregon. He attended Hood River schools during his childhood,
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held June 7th 2014 at 12:00pm at Idlewilde Cemetery (980 Tucker Road Hood River, Oregon 97031).
Mike joined the Army and after being stationed in Germany was honorably discharged. He was proud to be a timber faller for 24 years. He then owned and operated MK Motors, a well-known chain saw shop in Hood River. On “retiring” in 1998 he planted 300 cherry trees on 4 acres. This was his pride and joy, spending many hours working and cultivating his passion. Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and farming. He also enjoyed watching Fox News Channel and Real Criminal Investigation programs.
Mike is survived by two sons: John Kroeger and Jeffrey Kroeger, both of Hood River and two grandchildren: Kaleb Kroeger and Raelynn Veach, both of Silverton. He is also survived by two sisters: Shirley Chrisman and Verna Martin.
