Obituary for Donald Joseph Teckenburg

Donald Teckenburg 82 passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Columbia Basin Care Facility in The Dalles, Oregon. Donald was born February 3, 1932 in Denison, Iowa to Joseph and Erna (Summerfeldt) Teckenburg.

Services are planned for 11:00am., Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Odell, services will be officiated by Pastor Rick Plank (3080 Odell Hwy Odell,, Oregon 97044).

Donald grew up in Denison, Iowa where he attended the local schools. He also resided in Lyle, Washignton, Beaverton, Oregon and as of 1973 lived the remainder of his life in Hood River, Oregon. Donald worked in manufacturing, auto mechanics and millwright.

August 24, 1955 Donald married Marian Tuthill in Independecne, Iowa together having three children.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, gardening and farming, He was a life member of the NRA and contributed to the organization through out the years. He was also involved with the Northwest Steelheaders and was a volunteer with the Oregon Fish and Game Trout and Salmon Enhancement Program.

Donald is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years Marian, his son Rodney both of Hood River, his daughter Teresa Muscutt and husband Patrick of Oak Harbor, Washington, his daughter Karen Teckenburg and companion Fernando of Gresham, Oregon, three sisters, one brother and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Dennis, David, Daniel and one sister Martha.

Memorials are encouraged to be made in Donald’s name to the NRA, American Cancer Center and or OHSU Knight Cancer Center in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.

Private family inurnment to follow the Memorial Service at the Lyle-Balch Cemetery in Lyle, Washington

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
