Obituary for Hitoshi "Hit" Imai

Hitoshi “Hit” Imai passed away at 92 on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Providence Down Manor in Hood River. Hit was born August 12, 1921 to Tomoyoshi & Kotono.

A Celebration of Life Gathering is planned between 11:00am -1:00pm Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Hood River Valley Adult Center (2010 Sterling Drive Hood River, Oregon)

Hit grew up in Hood River & Dee areas and graduated at Hood River High School in 1938. After graduating he worked as an Orchardist until retirement. He married Mary Kawachi in Hood River February 15, 1948.

Hit enjoyed bowling scoring a 300 game December of 1961, fishing and loved spending time with his six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Hit was a hardworking, strong, and proud man who always wore a smile.

Hit is survived and will be dearly missed by his sons, Ronald G and spouse Kathy of Vancouver, Washington, D. Dale and spouse Bobbie of Vancouver, Washington, Russel and spouse Judy of Tigard, brothers, Shig and spouse Mary of Hood River, George and spouse Sophie of Hood River, Tetsuo of Placentia, California, sister Aki and spouse Cliff Nakamura of Hood River and his beloved grandchildren & great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his spouse Mary Imai.

Memorials are encouraged to be made in Hitoshi’s name American Cancer Society

Private Family Inurnment at Idlewidle Cemetery in Hood River, Oregon.
