Clemente H. Guzman age 89, passed away on Thurs. Apr. 4, 2013 at Hawks Ridge Assisted Living, Hood River, Or, with his daughter Linda Vigesaa by his side.

He was born on December 9, 1923 in El Paso, Texas to Clemente L. Guzman and Guadalupe Olguin Guzman. Clemente was a WW II Veteran and served in the U.S. Army from February, 1943 until March 1946. In 1946, he married Lumina Yanez in Big Spring, Texas.

In 1957, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and lived there until 1998. Clemente worked in the bakery industry and he and Lumina raised their family in Phoenix and lived there until after his retirement. In 1998 they moved to the Northwest. Clemente was a member of the Catholic Church and in his spare time enjoyed cooking and baking.

Survivors include: A son, Albert Guzman of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Linda Guzman Vigesaa, of Hood River, OR; two brothers – Henry Guzman of Midland, TX and Armando Guzman, of El Monte CA; a sister, Luz Martinez of Big Spring, TX; a grandson, Albert Guzman Jr., and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Lumina Guzman; his son Robert Guzman and his granddaughter Cynthia Guzman Gonzales.
Visitation will be held on Thurs. Apr. 11, 2013 from 2 – 5 p.m. at Samaritan Funeral Home, 1505 East McDowell Road. Phoenix, AZ 85006. Cemetery Service with Military Honors will be held at 2p.m. on Fri. Apr. 12, 2013 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road. Phoenix, AZ 85024.
