Obituary for Michael Scott Adams

Michael Scott Adams
Michael Adams, long time resident of Hood River passed away with his loving wife by his side on Feb. 14, 2013, he was 56. His death came after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael’s final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Michael was born Feb. 13 1957 to Connie and Bonnie (Parker) Adams in Hood River, Oregon. It was during Michael’s childhood that he developed his love for the outdoors, spending many weekends fishing and hunting with his grandfather, dad, and brother.
Michael met the love of his life, Claudette, and began dating while attending Hood River Valley High School. Michael and Claudette were married June 19, 1977 at Claudette’s parent’s home in Otis, Oregon. After a year and a half Michael and Claudette welcomed their first son Matthew into their lives. Their family became complete with the birth of their beautiful daughter Megan 6 years later.
Michael worked many years for Ford Motor company, but it wasn’t until recently he found his true calling in construction. Some of the notable projects Michael was involved with include the Macy’s building in downtown Portland, the Riverplace Condos on Portland’s waterfront, and the re-model of the Hood River Safeway.
Michael’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, softball, and golf. He was a very devoted father and grandfather. No matter the sacrifice Michael would always ensure the happiness of his family before his own.
Michael leaves behind his wife of 35 years Claudette, mother Bonnie Crown of Hood River, mother in-law and friend Charlene MacKinnon of Hood River, father Connie Adams of Carson, WA, son Matthew (Kimberly) Adams of Hood River, daughter Megan Adams of Hood River, brother Mark (Linda) Adams of Parkdale, Uncle Tom (Dixie) Parker and family of Eugene, OR. He was the proud, loving Papa of six grandchildren: Madison, Leyton, Izaiah, Elijah, Leah, and Micaiah.
Michael was preceded in death by two sets of grandparents, Scott and Charlotte Parker and Oscar and Mary Adams.
